Watch A Video of Graph At Thing In The Spring

Graph (Is A Band) at The Thing in the Spring 2013 from Pony Problems Productions on Vimeo.

Allston Pudding is pleased to present a series of videos captured live from this year’s Thing in the Spring in Peterborough, New Hampshire. These videos come to us from the newly established Pony Problems Productions, a video production house launched from the Western Mass-based record label TinyRadars.

Western Mass trio Graph was a band from 2008 to 2012, and in that time, not enough people understood just how good Graph was. For that reason, and because the time and place called for it, Graph reunited for an impromptu set during this year’s Thing in the Spring. The trio features Matt Robidoux of Speedy Ortiz on guitar, Andy Kivela of Goddard and 23 on drums, and Ry Amidon on bass. Here, they play a surprise tune at the Town Hall of Peterborough. With a commanding, fuzzy stomp, “Middle” is wrought with ferocity, and shows no signs of the band having over a year off. The band achieves a massive sound in the echoey acoustics of the room, building up throughout the song, only to drop down to the sweet and solitary chords of Robidoux’s guitar at the end. It’s almost like a glorious “I came, I saw, I conquered” type of moment. Take a peak at this special performance, and keep checking back for more videos from Thing in the Spring 2013.
