Instrumental hip-hop luminary DJ Shadow announced today the launch of his own imprint Liquid Amber. He intends on using it to release his own tracks and, down the road, others’, primarily on digital but with the occasional physical release.

Shadow also today dropped the fledgling imprint’s first release- unsurprisingly titled The Liquid Amber EP. The three tracker explores some future bass and stripped down hip-hop sounds and finishes on an awesome Machinedrum remix of Shadow’s classic “Six Days.” Give it a listen below and get excited for Shadow’s upcoming show with Cut Chemist 9/3 at the House of Blues.
