Local Somerville multi-instrumentalist Jhainish has released a debut track and accompanying video for “Sheep Tooth.” The track is off of his debut EP “Hihi” self-produced and due for release this Wednesday June 10th. It features fellow local musician Andy Bickerton on slow motion drums as the two jam out to the jazzy indie-electronic track that features plenty of mellotron-synth, pill flute and lush layered vocals. Jhainish, buy the stage name for Jhainish Sinnatamby was born to Tamil immigrants that relocated from Sri Lanka during a period of political turmoil and learned piano, bass and guitar playing in both jazz and punk bands at a young age. He has most recently played in Age Rings, a band fronted by prolific local singer-songwriter Ted Billings. Check out the sonically pleasing video below.
