You wouldn’t know it was a Sunday with the way the Endless Summer tour rolled through the Xfinity Center the other night. “You want to party, Boston?” G-Eazy asked in the beginning of his set, “I thought that was always the plan”.
With five acts on the bill, featured sets were Ty Dolla $ign, Lil Uzi Vert, and of course, G-Eazy. Each artist had their own unique style and stage production, making it feel more like a series of short headliners as opposed to opening acts. DJ Murda Beatz narrated each set change with songs to keep the crowd hyped, and popped a bottle or two of champagne in to the front rows just to keep things interesting.
G-Eazy’s set was stacked like a game of Jenga: just the right amount of suspense to keep you completely unsure of what might happen next. From his lyrics to his stage show, G-Eazy made it clear that he spared no expense for his audience and was there to make sure they had a good time. Musically, G-Eazy was tight and delivered an experience much like you’d hear on his album. No auto-tune, just verse after verse with drums and DJ behind him. Though he performed a majority of his songs alone on stage, he was all the audience needed. All in all, if the Summer has to end, the crowd was glad to end it here.
