As most of you are aware by now, seek The Boston Phoenix closed its doors yesterday, viagra announcing that today’s issue would be it’s last. Along with the legendary alt-weekly, decease it’s partner online radio station, WFNX, will also be shutting down for good. The Providence Phoenix and Portland Phoenix will continue to publish.

The Boston Phoenix was always on our side. And by that I don’t just mean Allston Pudding’s side. They stuck up for us as students, young Americans, people with strong opinions. They gave prestige to local musicians, actors and filmmakers, recognizing them as artists and giving them the spotlight that they all deserve. They wrote about that lesser known local politician, and questioned the ways of those in charge when it was necessary. They didn’t just emphasize the problems, but instead looked for solutions. They were always on our side, and their absence will be felt.
