Some of 2014's most captivating music was released in short form, coming by way of online mixes, free downloads and extra-special sets. Forming a a list of just thirty was difficult for us, as this year saw many artists step away from industry habit to highlight something smaller. Whether it was a batch of new work or finding place for a previous album’s unforgettable outliers, the product of many artists was captivating, and resulted in some of the greatest musical collections of the past 365.

So here’s to the EPs of 2014, for astutely bundled greatness and the suggestion of bangers set to hit us next year.
