Here’s some good news for anyone who enjoys some funky, groovin soul – the Queen of Soul herself Aretha Franklin is tentatively set to release an album in September, and Outkast’s André 3000 is on the board to co-produce a few songs. Previously this year, there were hints of a collaboration.
The album is said to be a ‘divas cover album’, featuring covers of Adele’s ‘Rolling In The Deep’ and Gladys Knights & The Pips ‘Midnight Train to Georgia.’
Who knows that this fusion of new soul and old soul will be? Only time can tell, but we have a hunch that it will probably be something respectable and definitely something fresh and clean.
