Allston trio Arvid Noe have become an underground staple in Boston and beyond since their formation in 2010. There was a time when, on any given weekend night, you could probably find a spot, whether it be a house or a club, where you could see Arvid Noe or an Arvid Noe side-project play live (this used to make me so confused as to who was actually in Arvid Noe or who was in a different band). With their technical, math-rocky sound, the band’s fearsome attack style and knack for risk-taking has always made for an engaging live experience. While the news of their final hurrah is a bit of a bummer, they also announced that they will be going out with an awesome tour.
Their journey kicks off this Saturday at O’Brien’s. While I’m understood that this will NOT be their final Boston show, it is King Orchid’s final show, so you should obviously be there. Their Spring tour will have them share bills with studs like Banned Books, California X, Ovlov, and more. Especially if you’ve never had the chance to check these guys out live, don’t miss this tour. If you snooze on Arvid Noe, you basically snooze on Allston music.
