Sonically, New York duo BLUFFING like to keep things simple. Their debut EP Sugar Coated Pills of Wisdom features ten fuzzy pop songs that max out at 2:03 in length. The “Patriotic” playlist they provided us, however, is anything but simple. With artists ranging from James Brown to Elliot Smith, and sentiments ranging from “I love this country” to “get me out of here”, it’s worth a listen this Independence Day, no matter how much you love (or loathe) your country.
After celebrating our nation’s birth accordingly, make sure to mark your calendar for July 14th, when BLUFFING will be playing at Charlie’s Kitchen in Harvard Square along with The Channels and Big Neck Police.
Check out bonus tracks from Dead Kennedys and This Heat below. Both artists aren’t available on Spotify because they believe music streaming services are un-American. Or something like that.
