No one can deny the success that Boston Calling had in its first year and, to every Bostonian’s delight, is hitting City Hall Plaza again this May with a new lineup that will be announced on Tuesday (1/28). For those of you who can’t wait for that digital flyer to pop up on your Facebook newsfeed, the masterminds behind the festival have come up with a creative way to reveal the 2014 bill – a “Find the Vinyl” citywide scavenger hunt.
Here’s the rundown:
Ten vinyl records with the lineup scripted on and special edition artwork on the sleeve will be hidden throughout the city. Between 8 pm and 12 am on Monday (1/27), all records will be planted in various hot spots and key landmarks. You’ll have until 12 pm on Tuesday to find one of these gems, which will provide the exclusive opportunity to win a pair of three-day passes to the festival by posting a picture of the record you found with #bostoncalling to Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram.
The contest’s organizers don’t plan on totally leaving you in the dark either – clues will be posted on the festival’s Twitter and Facebook pages starting at 3:30 pm on Monday to increase your chances. If you don’t end up being one of the lucky winners, don’t fret! Pre-sale passes will go on sale this Wednesday (1/29).
May the odds be ever in your favor!
