We’ve reached an era when a rainbow of underground music cultures are right at our fingertips; we can track the progress of a talented DJ with the click of a button, enjoy a brand new, full-length DJ set while we do work on our computers, and get to know artists whom we otherwise would never encounter outside the walls of some impossibly cool basement or club.

Two Door Cinema Club (Royale 10/5/13)

Northern Irish band Two Door Cinema Club quickly rose to indie rock glory from the debut of their album Tourist History in 2010, and their first show out of two weekend nights at the Royale (followed by a special dj-set dance party which this unfortunately underage writer could not attend) sealed their claim to fame.

The Ballroom Thieves Debut Highly Anticipated Self Titled EP at The Sinclair

Chomping at the bit to cover my first show for Allston Pudding, I stepped through the Sinclair doors almost a full hour before the openers took the stage and three before headliners, The Ballroom Thieves. And inside was an uncanny semblance to a typical post-prom party. Two by two awkward couples were posted up against the wall, on the stairs, at the bar, slowly milking alcohol for all its social lubricant clout.
