Cloud Nothings just shared their video for “Now Hear In”, the opening track off their latest album Here And Nowhere Else. The relatively short video stars the bassist from Toro Y Moi Patrick Jeffords as choppy clips show him traveling all over California wearing a giant over-the-head mask. According to Jordan Blackmon, video director and touring guitarist for Toro Y Moi, it all depicts “a loose cyclical theme of identity and ego-birth/death.”

The video’s sun-boiled aesthetic and black & white color scheme go right along with the guitar-textured track. Teetering on the line between dark and humorous, Jeffords, and his head, serve as the song’s voyaging mascots. The clips follow the song’s pace as they speed up and drop off, leaving viewers with our big-headed friend on the beach. The concept fits the lo-fi alternative pop band well, for the members of Cloud Nothings are currently on the open road themselves, with one of their next stops being The Sinclair on October 8th.

Go check out them, or at least their video.
