It’s time to lose your shit dancing in public without losing your dignity. On Friday, June 27, Cambridge City Hall is throwing their annual Dance Party in the middle of Mass Ave. where thousands of Boston residents and visitors come outside to dance to a live DJ and colorful lights. The city closes traffic from 7-11 PM at Central Square between Inman and Bigelow for the event. The best part? It’s 100% free.

The Dance Party was originally conceived in 1996 to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Cambridge. Surprisingly, it draws more elders than you would expect in a city flooded with college kids. Do note that the #1 bus line will terminate in Central Square at 6 PM and resume full service at 11:30 PM, so your best best is taking the red line for anywhere between Central Square and Harvard Square.
