There’s the city that never sleeps, and then the musician who never sleeps. Garage rock superstar Ty Segall seems to drop a new album every couple of months, be it under his own name, the Ty Segall Band, FUZZ, or any other of the numerous outlets he drops rowdy, grunge tracks through. His newest full-length, Manipulator, comes out on August 26th through Drag City, and today he’s shared the first single from the album, “Susie Thumb.”

In typical Segall style, it’s coated in a thick layer of fuzz that chases after reverb-laden falsetto vocals and a crisp drum chase. KEXP premiered the song over at their site and has it up for a free download, so snag it while you can here. The other (better??) option is to let the song blow your mind live when Ty Segall plays Great Scott on September 19th. The show is presented by Allston Pudding, so you know it’s going to be a rad time.
