After a tumultuous summer wherein the OddFuture MC was forced to cancel the majority of a North American tour due to exhaustion, Earl Sweatshirt released a new track titled “45” yesterday. With a stripped down production, and his signature low-energy, high-ferocity flow, “45” sounds like a refinement of the sound we heard off tracks like “Centurion” and “20 Wave Caps” on Earl’s last album Doris.

The track clocks in at just over one minute, which may suggest that “45” is just a teaser for a longer track off Earl’s often-hinted at upcoming album. Earl tweeted a stream to “45” along with the words “ALCHEMIST / SWAMPMAN,” which means the track may have been produced by legendary hip-hop producer Alchemist.
