Tanlines, an electronic indie duo, has been circulating the undercurrents for the past few years. Their sound is an infectious blend of pop, indie, eletronica and even some African influence that has wiggled its way to every driving playlist I’ve made for years. The duo’s first full length album came out in 2012 entitled Mixed Emotions and reached No. 2 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart in addition to receiving positive reviews from Pitchfork and Spin among others.
Last month, Tanlines made a brief appearance for a DJ set at the ICA on the waterfront and they are going to be back in Boston next Tuesday. And get this — it’s F-R-E-E (thanks Converse!!).
