Gardens & Villa Announce Record + Tour, Share New Track

Santa Barbara synth act Gardens & Villa have announced the details of their second album. Titled Music for Dogs, the band describe this record as a rebuke of the commercial pulls of being in an indie band, with the five-piece turning away from the idea of “art as a career” to instead make it their way of life. Produced by Jacob Portrait of Unknown Mortal Orchestra, the album will be available August 21st via Secretly Canadian.

The group have also shared the first single off of the album, Fixations. Sporting a catchy melody and cutting lyrics, the track is a great example of how even when they’re defying popular music, G&V makes damn good pop music.
