ROBOKID
Lvl. 12 DJ
Strengths/Weaknesses:
+ Solid dance beats, gets those butts moving
– Remix heavy, not the most originale
+ Bishounen trait, strong against those so inclined
– Too smooth, not much interaction with crowd

Analysis:
This local cub of the Hub is quickly blazing his own trail. While truly stymied in the realm of typical dance electro, his connection to the younger crowd that night at BMH with on hand as he made bodies move with his bass-heavy mixes. All that being said, there is definitely still room for growth. Especially when placed on a raised stage above the masses, ROBOKID’s stage presence left a lot to be desired. His passive nature adversely affected his crowd control.

Spazzkid
Lvl. 28 Hype Machine
Strengths/Weaknesses:
+ Incredible personality, strong connection to crowd
– Bit of niche choices in mixes
+ Obvious love for his own material and choices in remixes
– Might seem a bit silly to a more general audience, hard to take seriously

Analysis:
Almost a pure mirror image of ROBOKID, Spazzkid was all about getting down with your crazy self. Seriously attacking the crowd with a wide range of generally nerdy remixes of artists ranging from Porter Robinson to Anamanaguchi, the vividly colorful attire matched the high energy of the wearer as he got the crowd going with his own blend dancing and handclaps. Spazzkid seemed the most at home on the stage at BMH despite hailing from LA.

Giraffage
Lvl. 41 Electroweaver
Strengths/Weaknesses:
+ Completely original mixes/songs, hand-crafted sound
– Not really a wide range in character, appeal to very specific group
+ Impressive and awe-inspiring stage set-up
– A step down in energy in comparison to Spazzkid

Analysis:
The natural evolution of a DJ who specializes in very stylistic remixes is one who builds their own house, so to speak. Original songs and your own specific self-identifying sound are the stages that lift you up to the the next stage of electronic artist (ala Baths and Grimes) vs. a house DJ. Giraffage showed that he definitively hit that mark at BMH, spending largely his own set playing songs off his own releases. He even showed off a very personal stage set-up that featured flashing lights and an impressive visual array on the screen behind him that synched to the sounds. Giraffage wowed the crowd and is proving himself a growing titan on the electro scene.
