Local orchestral-pop quartet Art Decade are prepping a new album for the fall, and have released the first track from it today. “No One’s Waiting” continues with vocally-sweetened pop songwriting, backed by a massive sound from a 15-piece chamber orchestra of strings and brass. The song retains immense complexity, much like Art Decade’s previous work, but this jam is easy to digest, finding a radio-friendly balance that could translate well with a number of different types of listeners.
Art Decades new album was recorded at a number of different Boston locations, including Q Division Studios, Mike Thomas’ (Grass is Green/Super Volcano) basement studio, and various apartment bedrooms. On top of the chamber orchestral, Art Decade’s guitarist, Joe Harrison, also supplied woodwind treatment on a few tracks. The album will be available this fall, and each track from it will be accompanied by a unique solargraph. Above, you can see the solargraph for “No One’s Waiting.” Art Decade play next on July 19th at Boston’s Outside the Box Festival.
