Late April fading into early May is a fantastic time in terms of academic semesters, nurse weather, order and apparently indie rock. Many recognizable acts will be stopping in Boston during those transitional weeks, case providing a solid means to enter into 2014’s summer solstice. Here are this week’s tour announcements:

Tycho (Sinclair, 4/17)
Under the moniker Tycho, California native Scott Hansen has been catching some gnarly chillwaves since 2002. With his fourth album Awake hitting stores on March 18th, Hansen will be bringing his ambient pleasures to some well-deserving North American venues including Cambridge’s Sinclair this April.

S. Carey (Great Scott, 4/17)
This folk singer-songwriter is taking a brief hiatus from being one of the back-up beards in Bon Iver to pursue his own solo career. In support of his third album Range of LightS. Carey will embark on a month-long tour in April that will hit Rat City on the 17th.

Foals (Orpheum, 5/4)
Still high off of 2013’s critically-acclaimed Holy Fire, British alt-rockers Foals will pick up where they left off in terms of touring and venture throughout North America this spring with Cage the Elephant and J. Roddy Walston & the Business. You can catch them at the Orpheum on May 4th.

Foster the People (House of Blues, 5/9)
Announcing their highly anticipated follow-up to 2011’s Torches, LA-based trio Foster the People are returning to the public eye with a sophomore release in March and a string of tour dates. Their radio-friendly tunes will be accompanied by St. Lucia at the House of Blues this May.

Tokyo Police Club (Sinclair, 5/17)
Ontario quartet Tokyo Police Club announced the March 25th release of their upcoming album Forcefield earlier this month, but just informed the masses of the accompanying tour that will stop everywhere from Dublin to Boise, ID. Luckily for us, they’ll be ending their tour at the Sinclair in May.

Manchester Orchestra (House of Blues, 5/23)
April is going to be a very busy month for Atlanta five-piece Manchester Orchestra, who are dropping Cope at the first of that month and hitting the road shortly after for a tour with the likes of Balance & Composure and Kevin Devine.
