Illiterate Light rocked out at Great Scott last Thursday night with a dynamic set full of high energy, intense drum-beating, and a show that not a soul in the audience will forget.
The show kicked off with Camp Howard taking the stage. The Virginia-based indie quartet set a continuous good vibe for the night, playing hits such as “Fucked Up,” and new sounds from their most recent album Cañon, released last October. During the set, the band mentioned to the crowd that they had heard someone the other day say that “rock is dying,” to which the crowd responded with boo’s and hollers. The band refuted this statement by continuing to rock the stage.
Illiterate Light carried Camp Howard’s vibrant energy into their own set, playing hits from each of their records including their latest self-titled album, which was also released in October. Performing songs such as “Sometimes Love Takes So Long,” “Better Than I Used To,” and “Nuthin’s Fair,” the band delivered an exhilarating performance as the audience roared their lyrics back to them–––maybe even louder than them. As Jeff Gorman filled the venue with his powerful vocals and Jack Cochran amazed all with his powerful, intense drumming, Illiterate Light put on a show that was very much proof that rock is, in fact, not dead.
