Did you catch BRONCHO tearing it up at Great Scott on Thursday night? No you say? Well don’t worry, because the band is certain to be touring for a quite a while based on the strength of their excellent sophomore album Just Enough Hip To Be Women, which was released earlier this week.

The Oklahoma four-piece took some time out their touring schedule to answer a few of our questions, the majority of which had nothing to do with their new album or their current tour.  Check out their responses below and give their new record a spin – you’ll regret it significantly less than the band regrets agreeing to talk to us.

Allston Pudding: Your new album “Just Enough Hip To Be Women” came out on September 16th. September 16th was the same day that the Mayflower began her journey from North America in 1620, and the day General Motors was founded in 1908. Which one had a greater influence on the record?

Broncho: I’ve always had a thing for boats, but I love my car.  Both led to a lot of death, I hope our record doesn’t kill anyone

AP: You did a few shows opening for Brand New and Joyce Manor. Which band would you rather play touch football against, and why?

B: Joyce manor, they’re more our size. I think Brand New might take us up front. Plus, brand new tested positive for HGH. Not sure who’s supposed to know that

AP: Which fellow Oklahoma rock band do you owe the biggest debt of gratitude for your current success: The All American Rejects, Hinder, or Hanson?

B: Dwight Twilley

AP: Speaking of Oklahoma, what’s one band from your local scene that we should check out?

B: Low Litas, they’re on tour with us. I love em. You gotta see em. You’ll love em too

AP: Based on the name of your band, you’re probably mistaken for Peyton Manning often. If you were Peyton Manning and you could endorse one beverage other than Gatorade, which one would be and why?

B: Mr. Pibb, it’s the working mans Dr Pepper

AP: A director approaches you with an opportunity to film a documentary covering the release of your new album, but they can only film at one show on your current tour. Which one do you have them show up at?

B: San Francisco opening up for mission of Burma, it was the best night of the tour. Lots of touching. We’re a physical band. Everyone got touched that night, probably would show up good on film.

AP: Chris Brown and Barbara Streisand both have records out the same day as yours – why should we choose to buy yours over theirs?

B: Because we need more money than they do. It’s an economical thing. Musically, probably Barbara’s, but fiscally we could use it more.

AP: Any fast food wisdom from the road you would like to leave our readers with?

B: The taco bells in California warn that the ingredients in their food may cause cancer. So just avoid Taco Bell in California. Should be fine everywhere else
