We caught up with Conor Loughman, Owner of The Brain Trust, our newest Community Partner!

What does your company do?
The Brain Trust specializes in booking & promoting concerts in Boston & NYC, and this Summer we took over as talent buyers at Wonder Bar.

How did The Brain Trust get started?
I reached out to my friend Kyle, who was running an event production company called JMP Live, and asked him if we was interested in working with me and the roster of artists I was managing at the time.  We formed in 2010 as a hybrid event production & artist management company, with the goal of booking great shows and helping to showcase our favorite local musicians.

Why do you do it?
I’ve always loved sharing great music with friends.  This job lets me do that on a daily basis, while also directly supporting many of my favorite artists (both local & national)

Who are some of your favorite bands?
I listen to a little bit of everything, but Toe, Bonobo, Midnite and Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings are some of the best live shows I’ve ever seen.  My business partner Richard loves electronic collectives like Flow-Fi and Moving Castle, but gets down with a lot of local music as well. Right now Rich People Food and Latrell James are standouts.

What is your favorite food spot in Boston?
Lone Star, all day.
