This year’s Porchfest was a smashing success with an eclectic group of musicians that brought their own unique voices to JP’s beautiful neighborhoods. It’s a time and place for sounds we may not get a lot of in our day to day here in Boston- here we find world music, jazz, R&B, folk and even some pop and rock acts that bring the beat. Porchfest brings music outside, and brings us together  outside of the dark bars we associate with shows and into fresh air, sunshine, grass and summery streets filled with music lovers, young and old alike. Porchfest needs your help to keep this beautiful tradition alive- they’ve put together a kickstarter to fund the festival so that it can continue to grow and thrive. On their Kickstarter campaign’s page, Porchfest’s facilitators said the following about their plans to expand the event saying:

“We decided to organize JP Porchfest because it was an opportunity to weave various threads of our neighborhood together, using music as the vehicle. We are now revving up to organize JP Porchfest 15! This year, we’ll be increasing the numbers of bands, as well as adding circus arts, theater, dance and spoken word. People asked for better signage and porta-potties, and they want more music over a longer number of hours. We will deliver!”
