Known bandmate John Andrews just shared a second track  “I’ll Go To Your Funeral (If You Go to Mine)” off his debut solo album. After drumming in local-love Quilt and playing keys in location-fluid Woods, Andrews is undoubtedly able to take the singer/songwriter track by folkish storm.

Trust me. “I’ll Go To Your Funeral (If You Go to Mine)” is less depressing than the title emits. Fittingly lax given Andrews’ past projects, this song swells in and out of bright piano, tambourine and simple “believe me if you want” vocals. All of which make sense given that he’s adopting “The Yawns” as his fictional back-up band for the LP’s artist name.

I’m in no place to paraphrase the complexity of his lyrics, but perhaps that serves as further incentive to give the new track a listen.

So, do that below. AND be sure to check out the John Andrews & The Yawns album Bit By the Fang, dropping April 14th via Woodsist.
