Exploding In Sound Records has given a home to numerous Boston favorites: Speedy Ortiz, Pile, and Kal Marks among others. The label announced yesterday that another Allston Pudding favorite would be joining the ranks: congratulations Krill!
According to the label’s bio, “[Exploding In Sound Records likes] rock music (among other genres), and we like it to be loud. Our goal is to make an impact both musically and culturally, through our good and honest DIY roots. This is Exploding In Sound Records. We hope to make your ears ring.” We think Krill is going to fit right in.
The folks in Exploding In Sound seem to be just as pumped as Krill, “Words can barely express just how much we love Krill and Lucky Leaves and now that they have joined the EIS family, well… I could just scream, but that won’t come across on these internets. So instead I ask you trust us, trust in Krill,” the label said in a press release.
This is just another notch for Krill to add in their list of why 2013 RULES. The trio put out their sophomore release Lucky Leaves independently earlier this year and soon after got a few nods and smiles from critics at Pitchfork and Stereogum.
There are rumors of a new Krill EP due out early next year so stay tuned – and don’t miss Krill at our Halloween gig next week because who knows where they’ll be this time next year.
Krill forever.
