Life On Loop, a new Brooklyn-based label, would like to announce their launch. The label is spearheaded by Brandon Hafetz, who formerly spent some time around the Boston music scene after founding Fitz Ross Productions. Since Fitz Ross dissolved, Hafetz shifted gears, working on getting Life On Loop off the ground.
For the time being, the label will operate solely in physical distribution. To kick things off, Life On Loop will press 500 copies of the self-titled LP by Boston’s own Bat House, which came out last year. The first time Hafetz linked up with the band was when they performed for Fitz Ross’s Spare Room Sessions in 2015. “These songs and people are very near and dear to my heart,” Hafetz said, “so Bat House was the perfect choice for Life On Loop’s very first pressing.”
Speaking about the goal’s of Life On Loop, Hafetz stressed the power of music to evoke nostalgia. “I find myself returning to very specific memories and places I’ve visited each time I put on one of my favorite records, and that’s what I hope to create for listeners with the records we press for this label.” Keeping Fitz Ross going was too difficult with a staff of volunteers, and Hafetz was itching to get involved in the scene again. His hope is that Life On Loop becomes a label that helps artists on the rise achieve their goals. “Every band at some point hopes to be able to have their own vinyl and that’s what my main initiative is here,” he said. In the future, Hafetz will look to expand the label media to include things like live video sessions, in the vein of the Spare Room Sessions he did for Fitz Ross.
Copies of the record will be on sale at the Bat House show at the Cambridge Elks Lodge on Saturday 3/10. The band will open in support of Kal Marks, who are celebrating the release of their own brand new record. Furanimal and NICE GUYS will also perform.
