Yes, we are very familiar with ethereal sounds of Beach House. The Baltimore-based dream pop duo has had us smitten for a while now. They just released “Saturn Song” which will be a part of Lefse Records’ The Space Project.
The project was partially recorded “using sounds literally culled from outer space.” What does that mean? According to a press release, the recorded sounds are the “electromagnetic radiation fluctuations in the magnetosphere of the planets, moons, and large asteroids the Voyager probes traveled near.”
We’ll find out in April.
The collection will be released on Record Store Day 2014 (April 19) and will also feature artists like The Antlers, Youth Lagoon, Spiritualized, and Mutual Benefit (congrats, Jordan!).
