Meat Wave Release First Music Video for “Brother”

Meat Wave

There are some bands in life that the first thing you think when you hear them is “Why didn’t I hear this sooner?” Meat Wave is one of those bands. The Chicago punk trio have a way of making screaming so cathartic that you start to giggle, although that could be  a result of the poppy riffs, too. Today, they’ve shared their first video ever for “Brother” off their 2012 self-titled debut.

The under-two-minute song gets a video that’s just as stuttering and claustrophobic as the track. Drummer Ryan Wizniak sets the tempo for the footage, smashing together images of the guitarist Chris Sutter and bassist Joe Gac in giant paper mache heads as they play in a basement. For a debut video, it matches their sound perfectly.

Next week the band head out on a short US tour. While they won’t be stopping in Boston, they are hitting up New York City for two CMJ shows. See the full list of dates after the video.
