We’re super psyched that BUFU Records is our newest Community Partner! To kick off the partnership, we caught up with BUFU’s very own Ben Katzman.

What does your company do?
BUFU Records helps the spread the shred across the USA. We spend our time chillin’ hard and putting out tapes, and records for bands all over the United States!

How did BUFU get started?
BUFU started as a way to help put out our friends releases. We wanted to get our albums into record stores, and throw sick shows for all our homies. When I (Ben) first got to Boston, I was blown away by the amount of bands, and the local support that the scene thrived on. The intent behind BUFU was to do my best to contribute and help support the scene as well just like all our other friends and homies. Shoutout to the Boston Hassle, Allston Pudding, Illegally Blind, Feeding Tube Records, The Theives Grotto Collective, and Diamond Dave as well as all the sick bands, record stores, and kool people out here in New England!

Who are some of your favorite bands?
KISS, and Minor Threat, Madonna too.

What is your favorite food spot in Boston?
Anyplace that serves the ill bubble tea and the ill tacos. Shoutout to Tea Stop, and shoutout to Felipe’s in Cambridge. Those places rok so hard. We were so bummed when Felipe’s was closed for construction but now it has 2 floors, and a bigger sauce bar! Plus… Tea Stop has the ill Street Fighter II arcade machine. So tight.
