Kim Dotcom, creator of infamous (now-defunct) filehosting site Mega Upload, has revealed Baboom, a new music streaming service today with his own EDM album, “Good Times.”
The service is not completely live yet, but those wishing to register early can subscribe. As of now, only Dotcom’s album is available for download.
In a video accompanying the album, a bubbly Dotcom proclaims that Baboom will allow artists to release their music for free, and that fans should only pay “if they like it.”
“I’m going to lead by example today,” Dotcom declared. “Let’s prove that my idea for the music industry works by making the album number one.”
Time will tell if Baboom catches on, or if Dotcom’s own musical forays are left up a stream without a connection.
