Thee Oh Sees have released a pair of new songs today, in different places — but here we are, bringing them together for your enjoyment.

“Withered Hand” starts off with nearly a minute-long build up, and when that breaks, dang is it worth it. The guitars scream, and drums never slow down, and you’re constantly reminding yourself how lucky you are Thee Oh Sees came back from hiatus last year and are still going. Look for this song on their upcoming album, Mutilator Defeated At Last, (along with another new track released last month called “Webwhen it’s released May 18 on Castle Face Records.

The second track from them out today has something to do with Lil Bub, the feline internet sensation, and LGBT rights in Indiana. Now, although those two things seem like an unlikely pairing, “50 Bands & A Cat for Indiana Equality” is a charity compilation album created by Joyful Noise Records, and features a lot of unreleased or rare tracks from rad artists all over the world — including Thee Oh Sees.

Their song in the compilation, “The Ceiling,” has never been released before, and is almost the opposite of “Withered Hand.” It’s dreamy and takes you back in time, even before Thee Oh Sees formed in 1997 (if such a time did exist).
