New Parkay Quarts album and a Parquet Courts tour

By Anna Marketti

You read that headline right- Parkay Quarts is set to release a new album, Content Nausea, under their newly coined moniker on November 11th, right before they embark on a tour as Parquet Courts. (11/11- it’s a wish come true!) It’s their second release under that name, and Parquet Courts’ fourth album as a group. Confused yet?

They're putting us on thin ice.

They’re putting fans on thin ice.

The revised, buttery name applies to the band when only half the members are present. And they’ve put out their second release since 2013, this time a full length. Capturing the same unique mashup of punk and mellow indie as Parquet Courts, Content Nausea is packed full of weird, twangy synth and slightly out of tune guitar- and they own it. You can stream it here!

And if you’ve enjoyed that, you can catch them on tour as- get ready for this-  Parquet Courts, Parkay Quarts, and PCPC, a third alias granted to the collaboration between members from Parquet Courts and PC Worship. Talk about confusing. Lucky for us, they’re only changing it up for the European leg of their tour. As soon as they’re back in the US, it’s all Parquet Courts, so you can enjoy the band as a whole. And you can catch them playing their hometown, New York City, at the lovely Webster Hall. That’s enough confusion for one day.
