New Spraynard album “Mable” streaming now

West Chester, PA, natives, Spraynard, have a new album called Mable, and it’s streaming today on Stereogum ahead of its release this Friday on Jade Tree Records. You can listen to it all here:

This album immediately gets points for referencing dogs. It loses points for reminding me of my newly found resentment for Applebee’s (my picture used to hang on the wall of my local Applebee’s until corporate came in and made them redecorate and sterilize everything in the name of SPORTS). Just kidding. The first track, “Applebee’s Bar,” on Mable is a strong 2 minutes of metaphors that really sink into that punk rock emo ethos.

Mable is a natural progression from Spraynard’s 2011 full-length album, Funtitled. It’s lost a little of the experimental variety Funtitled had, but sometimes an album full of unashamedly solid punk rock music is what you’re looking for.

You can see Spraynard with labelmates Dogs on Acid at Cuisine En Locale July 18. Get more information and tickets here.
