Amanda Palmer will celebrate the publication of her new book, ‘The Art of Asking,’ at Porter Square Books in Cambridge later this evening at midnight. Those who want first crack at Palmer’s new book, officially released Tuesday, the store will start to form a line in its parking lot around 11:30 p.m. Palmer fans in the Boston area, stay updated for pre-party meet-up plans via her Twitter (@amandapalmer) account.
The Lexington, Massachusetts born artist began her career as one-half of the German-Cabaret duo The Dresden Dolls in 2000. For well over a decade, Palmer’s fan base reached cult status. It resulted in a crowd-funding campaign for the history books and national headlines. Check out her TedTalk about her success and how she’s mastered the, well, art of asking.
If you can’t make it to tonight’s book signing, you can still snag a ticket to her live appearance at Royale on Tuesday (tomorrow) at 8:00 p.m.
