Noam Pikelny & Friends to Play Sinclair Next Week! (2/19)

noam

The Sinclair, on an impressive tear to open 2014, does not look to be slowing down anytime soon. Join in next Wednesday (February 19th), when Noam Pikelny & Friends come to town. Pikelny–a founding member of Punch brothers and former member of Leftover Salmon– is hot off his October release, Noam Pikleny Plays Kenny Baker Plays Bill Monroe, which is, in fact, exactly that. It is the first banjo adaptation of Baker’s 1976 fiddle arrangements, and it’s as fun to hear as it is to say.

Pikelny alone has owned the banjo in the last few years. And he’s got the accolades to back it– in 2010 he was awarded the first ever Steve Martin Prize for Excellence in Banjo and Bluegrass. He also picked up a GRAMMY nomination for his 2012 record, Beat The Devil And Carry A Rail. It’s safe to say Pikelny is on the up and up– buy your tickets before it’s too late.

Also performing are “Friends” Bryan Sutton, Luke Bulla, Barry Bales, and Jesse Cobb.

Doors are at 8, show at 9.
