An artist with a sound that is wildly raw and unpredictable, mind electronic and dance inspiring, drug Peaches, born Merrill Beth Nisker, has announced a new album, entitled Rub to be release on September 25th. Her first album since 2009’s I Feel Cream, Peaches will tour North America this fall to support Rub. The Boston show is on Friday, October 23rd at the Paradise Rock Club.
Between this and her last album, Peaches, has been exploring a dense landscape of other art mediums. This includes a one woman showing of Jesus Christ Superstar, a starring role in a Berlin production of the opera L’Orfeo, and an experimental autobiographical film entitled Peaches Does Herself . These intriguing escapades are featured in the documentary photography book What Else Is in the Teaches of Peaches that was released on June 2.
Rub was recorded in L.A. with Vic Cooler and artists Feist, Kim Gordon, and Simonne Jones are listed to make appearances. You can view the track listing and tour dates below.
