OK Go, the band considered more famous for their videos than their actual music, played the Berklee Performance Center last Friday as part of their “Live Video” tour. The show was a unique concert experience, as they played live alongside their iconic music videos, and allowed for short Q&A breaks between every few songs. In addition, the band brought humor and charm to the show, making it an enjoyable experience even for those who aren’t fans of their upbeat indie sound.
The videos were, of course, fantastic, but OK Go didn’t let this aspect of the performance take away from the live theatrics. Cannons of confetti and strings of colorful lights littered the stage as the band played through 20 of their greatest music video hits, from their first appearance on a cable access show, to the viral “Here It Goes Again” and “This Too Shall Pass,” as well as more recent songs such as “Upside Down & Inside Out,” famous for its zero-gravity video. The family-friendly event was truly a one-of-a-kind musical-visual concert that was not to be missed.
