There was a lot going on in Boston on July 27th: a Red Sox game for sports fans, CannaCon for all the marijuana lovers–––but the biggest most bumping event of the day was A$AP Ferg’s Mad Man Tour at the House of Blues with special guests Buddy and IDK.
Starting off the show were a selection of artists handpicked by A$AP Ferg, including a local Boston rapper and Mississippi based hip-hop artist and producer, Swish. Next on the bill was up-and-coming Californian rapper, Buddy, who performed songs from his new album, Harlan & Alondra. The performance was a mixture of R&B jams and clever raps, which pumped the crowd up for the next act, IDK. The Maryland rapper emerged from the shadows in a rubber Regan mask, which perfectly set the tone for the rest of his delightfully bizarre act. As his set unfolded, IDK jumped into the crowd, started chants, and even pulled a fan up onto the stage to yell in his face as he sang his last song of the night.
Strobe lights and colored beams lit up the stage as A$AP Ferg finally emerged, flexing in the spotlight and showing off his Yamborghini chain, a one-of-a-kind necklace worn in tribute to the now deceased member of the A$AP Mob, A$AP Yams. As the show went on, the rapper delighted the crowd with a setlist so long that it had to be printed on three separate sheets of paper, masterfully mixing together both old and new songs from his lengthy discography. Overall, the crowd was full of energy, with fans singing, cheering, and dancing from start to finish. And by the time the show was over, it was obvious that no one regretted their choice to party with A$AP Ferg for the night.
