On the last stop of their tour, Antarctigo Vespucci jumped around, sang along with, and showered fans with balloons at The Sinclair. The band’s tour was in celebration of their newest record, Love in the Time of E-Mail, and joining them for the night were touring partners Katie Ellen and locals (T-T)b.
The opening set from (T-T)b showed off a mix of chiptunes and rock, which resonated well with the Sinclair’s audience. Katie Ellen’s follow up performance was similarly well received, with the band’s performance being somewhat sentimental, as it was the last on their tour with Antarctigo Vespucci. Their set included “Lucy Stone” from 2017’s Cowgirl Blues, and a powerful performance of “Adaption of Para Todos” from this year’s Still Life.
Antarctigo Vespucci’s set had boundless amounts of energy. Vocalist/guitarist and all around showman Chris Farren moved around the stage, layed on the ground, and even joined the crowd at one point. Likewise, fellow vocalist/guitarist Jeff Rosenstock did his own share of jumping, and the two musicians played off of each other’s energy throughout the night. Their setlist included many songs from their new release including “Freakin’ You Out” and “Kimmy,” as well as old fan favorites such as “Bang!” and “I Drew You Once In Art Class.” Members of Katie Ellen later joined the band on stage to help shower the crowd with balloons and place two large cardboard cutouts of Farren and Rosenstock on stage. And by the time the band finished their three encore songs, the venue was all smiles and cheers.
