Play at JP Music Festival (Disclaimer: You or a Bandmate Must Live or Work in JP)

By Charlie Moorin

Okay so it’s not as simple as signing your band name up on an internet form, at least I don’t think it is, but if you navigate yourself over to the JP Music Festival website, here, and then click the sentence that says, fill out this google form, then you, yes YOU, will be considered to play the 4th annual JP Music Festival on Saturday, September 6th. The only stipulations are: 1) you or one of your band members live or work in Jamaica Plain and 2) you play original music. The festival takes place on those softball fields to the right of Jamaica Pond- like if you’re looking at the little boat area, facing the water, the softball fields are to your right, and that’s where the festival stage is, and food trucks come, and families bring their dogs and babies but also you and your friends and people who don’t have dogs or babies go, and the sun is shining and the music is free and original and its super fun. The folks at JP Music Festival are also eager to help make your dreams come true: they have a 15 step guide to starting a music festival. In summation, I hope you are a musician living or working in JP. If not, mark your calendar, fall is only one summer away!
