Local favorite Luke Reed is working on some new solo stuff aside from his work in both Bent Shapes and Mini Dresses, look and if this new track is anything by which to judge the forthcoming EP, check Luke has got your languid summer folk-pop jam ready and waiting. “Across the Room” features sleepy guitar solos, Beach Boys-style bop-bops, and relaxed harmonies that feel both poppier and fuzzier than his other projects.

With “Across the Room,” Reed says, “I was trying to channel something melancholy in the melodies, but I also just bought a really cheap $50 guitar that bends in and out of tune really easily every time you touch the fretboard, so I layered a couple heavily distorted guitars to sort of wail away and take the song over until the end.” Take a listen below.
