PREMIERE: Lux Deluxe – “It’s a Girl”

Indie-rock quintet Lux Deluxe are proud to announce the release of their latest LP, It’s a Girl. The western Massachusetts quintet is on the up-and-up, thanks to a gig at NXNE in Toronto and a seal of approval from Pitchfork this past January. LuxDeluxe’s new record, which the band had been perfecting for nearly three years, falls neatly into modern indie-rock sentiments–a hint of Beck here, a hint of Wilco there–but their stake in the post-2010s genre is still uniquely their own, thanks to playful keyboards and classic blues-rock riffs. Highlights include guitar-heavy “The Last Volunteer,” recent single “What You Need,” and “So Far Away,” where the vocals really hit their stride.

Lux Deluxe will be opening for Deer Tick before one of their three sold-out Newport Folk Festival afterparty shows. Give It’s a Girl a first listen and peruse pictures from their recent Toronto tour below. The record will be officially released on July 7 and can be available for purchase on their Bandcamp.
