Jamaica Plain’s folktronic outfit Skinny Bones is gearing up to release their second record, Noise Floor. Today we’re releasing the first single “Wanderlust” from the forthcoming collection, a curious look inside the minds of the budding young duo. “Wanderlust” shows a tremendous amount of growth since 2013’s Skinni Dip. Underneath frontman Jacob Rosati’s matter-of-fact singing are synths, forceful plucking, and recorded sounds all in a phonographic collage grounded by percussionist Chris Stoppiello’s limbs. “Wanderlust” swells and releases, enveloping you in Rosati’s struggle to maintain happiness in his current reality. Noise Floor’s release date is TBA but expected late this spring. This record is a darker, synesthetic departure for Skinny Bones. We couldn’t be happier and are eager for Noise Floor. While you’re waiting with bated breath, you can catch Skinny Bones at BUFU Fest next month.
