Didn’t get tickets from Converse to see The Replacements on Monday? Don’t worry, it’s not over for you and anthemic pop(ish) punk – feast your ears on this new track from Mean Creek drummer Mikey Holland’s solo project, The Dazies.

The first of a forthcoming EP, Cat Castle, “Piece of My Love” is infectiously catchy in a way that evokes the defiant major chord riffs of “Bastards of Young” or “Alternative Ulster” – the rare punk gem that is unabashedly positive and wholeheartedly upbeat.

Give a listen to the track below, and be sure to catch The Dazies playing as The Replacements tomorrow at O’Briens under the name “I Hate Music.” You’ll have to pay to get in, but hey, at least you’ll probably get in.
