Boston-based five piece These Wild Plains may be the country flavor Beantown never knew it was missing. Though hailing from various parts of Massachusetts, where actual plains are scant, the name is in “reference to what this country once was,” a la sprawling verdant fields ripe with plump buffalo. “Now paved over and probably home to a Wal-Mart Supercenter or eight,” says frontman Ryan Bambery. The band is a reminder of what once was, with Americana-influenced rock that ambles as freely as a prairie animal. “It also refers to the five wildly plain band members [in the band],” Bambery adds.

With a fresh EP Evils, which you can check out on their Bandcamp, These Wild Plains have a heartwarming video for the single “Evils”. Packed with grainy home movie style footage of the boys driving through beautiful landscapes that capture the wild plains of America, the “Evils” video inspires feelings that are anything but evil. A warm-toned color palette rules the video, vying for the viewer’s attention–yet does not detract from the melancholy lyrics that keep everything subdued.

You can pick up the EP via These Wild Plains’ Bandcamp, and give the video a watch below.
