Frustrated by a lack of openness and community in the house shows he was frequenting, Ikeda wanted a cleaner, friendlier, and more inclusive version of these shows to exist. Ikeda saw a need and decided to take matters into his own hands.

“I had one goal: to make the most inclusive space. There are so many spaces that can be alienating. [Getting this] first show up made me realize how empowering it is to do it yourself,”

Around that same time, a friend had recommended that he gain experience booking shows if he wanted to play out more and tour. He had seen a Facebook post from a band, There Is No Mountain (Portland, OR), looking for a space to play in Boston.
