PREVIEW: BUFU + KLYAM Present Nice Guys @ Out Of The Blue Too

BUFU Records have been pioneers in the way of promoting the Boston scene, signing and supporting local favorites like Free Pizza and IAN. They’ve decided to team up with local flavor website Kids Like You And Me (KLYAM) to host a stacked lineup at Out Of The Blue Too in Cambridge on August 1st.

Included in the lineup are Allston natives Nice Guys, who will be releasing their split with the aforementioned Free Pizza on the 1st and promoting it with the show. Nice Guys don’t boast authenticity to their name–in fact, their music is not quite something one would expect from self-proclaimed “nice guys”. Gritty and loud, this quartet is sure to shake the stage at their release show. Allston Pudding teamed up with the band this past February to put together a music video for “Stinker”, a single off of their latest album. Channeling Quentin Tarantino, the darkly humorous video features a dimly lit basement, the torturing of authority, and pizza–a triple threat when it comes to Allston-based punk.

Keeping with the established genre theme of the night, the show is also slated to feature New England Patriots (unfortunately, not Tom Brady shredding on guitar), Power Masters, James Leonard, and G. Gordon Gritty.  This punk-fueled lineup is packed with anger, angst, and agile drumming. Each artist boasts talent in their own right, but the sheer fluidity brought with the consistency in sound throughout the lineup promises one hell of an energetic show. Where New England Patriots sway a little more guitar-heavy, and Power Masters focusing on thick, guttural vocals, there’s enough variation to keep it all from sounding the same.

So snag your tickets ($7 each), RSVP, and don’t miss out on what’s sure to be a rockin’ night in Cambridge.
