We’ve joined forces with local Fitz Ross Productions before. You may remember our premiere for the Spare Room Session with the bedroom shoegaze group Horse Jumper of Love. More recently, we’ve covered the company’s Sessions with local favorites like Skinny Bones. Now we’re gearing up to leave this virtual partnership to team up with Fitz Ross for a two-day extravaganza at O’Brien’s Pub this weekend featuring these bands and more.
The festival will be an exercise in eclecticism for attendees, featuring everything from the potpourri of shoegaze and post rock on Saturday to a blend of just about every genre ranging from dark electronic to folk to funk on Sunday. If you’re not sure what you’re getting yourself into, you can check out most of these bands in a live setting on the Fitz Ross site. If you’re still not sold, you can warm yourself up with the unofficial first night of Fitz Fest on July 24 featuring Dent, Arrowhead, Quarrels and Bat House. Ask a punk for details.
Be sure to get your tickets to the festival early for a reduced rate.
