If you know anything about Allston Pudding, then you probably know we love Krill. Maybe even on the verge of obsession, but that’s beside the point. Naturally, we here at the Pudding simply can’t wait for the Krill record release show at Great Scott tomorrow, where they’ll be joined by Cloud Becomes Your Hand and Kal Marks to celebrate the release of A Distant Fist Unclenching, which dropped on February 17 via Exploding in Sound and Double Double Whammy.

Since you’ve heard us gush over Krill far too often, I caught up with openers Kal Marks to hear why they love Krill and what their favorite song by the band is:

“Well, first I’d like to say this night is a special night, not only to celebrate their record release, but all three members simultaneously finally got pubes. And I don’t mean a little bit of hair – it’s actually freakish. These boys look like they’re sneaking in brillo pads in their Speedos. I ensure you, they are finally real men.

“I don’t know if I love Krill. That just sounds weird. But I think we all admire their work ethic. They’ve done a lot of touring, and have continued a pursuit in creating new music. Lot of heart. What a bunch of gravy boys.

“My favorite song is the one about a robot. Did you hear this one? The song tells a true story of a scientist who builds a robot and treats it like a slave. The robot goes on a violent rampage and strangles its creator to death. The robot then drinks a bottle of whiskey and shoots itself in the head. Nobody knows this one.”

That didn’t convince you to head out to the show? Well, maybe their new album will.
